The new N2 Tower Plus series of nitrogen generators produce high purity nitrogen for all major applications in analytical laboratories. These nitrogen generators eliminate the problems associated with the alternative handling of high pressure gas tanks and bottles, and reduce the cost acquiring high purity nitrogen for your laboratory applications.
The N2 Tower Plus nitrogen generators use air from a separate compressor and remove the oxygen to less than 10ppm (hydrocarbons to <0.1ppm is optional). The guaranteed flow rates of pure nitrogen are 500 ml/min, 750 ml/min, 1300 ml/min or 4000 ml/min depending on the generator module.
The constant high purity of the nitrogen provides stable conditions for analytical systems and guarantees highly reproducible results. Savings are countless thanks to the ability to eliminate the extra cost involved in handling, transporting, storing, and purchasing high pressure gas tanks or bottles. Installation is effortless and quick, as is the routine maintenance.
Operating Principle of the N2 Tower Plus
Compressed air from an outside source (not included) passes through a charcoal filter for pre-cleaning before the oxygen is removed by the double column pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology. One of the PSA columns is active while the second one is regenerated. The removed gases such as oxygen, are released back to the atmosphere.
With an optional catalyst, other trace impurities such as hydrocarbons and CO are removed to levels <0.1 ppm. An additional filter is installed to remove particulates down to 0.5 microns. For the complete removal of all hydrocarbons, an optional catalytic oven is available. This will guarantee trouble-free operation of FID detectors in GC.
