GT Ultra-Zero Air Generators are designed and manufactured to supply ultrapure, hydrocarbon-free, zero air for GC-FID applications. Catalytic oxidation technology eliminates hydrocarbons to <0.1ppm, resulting in a flat, stable baseline, increased sensitivity, and repeatable analysis. These air generators feature a flow rate from 1.5 to 30 L/min with minimal maintenance required.
The GT Ultra-Zero Air Generator removes CO, CO2, NOX, SOX, and water vapor, making it ideal for demanding applications such as TOC, continuous emissions monitoring, and process control applications.
The reduction of NOx to < 1 ppm and carbon monoxide and hydrocarbons (including methane) to < 0.1 ppm decreases the background noise level and gives the baseline much better stability, increasing detector sensitivity considerably and ensuring precise analytical results.
Operating Principle in 5 Steps
The GT Ultra-Zero Air Generators use five steps to transform ambient air into analytical grade air.
STEP 1: Pre-Filtration
An external oil-free compressor delivers air through a high efficiency filter that traps any particles that may damage the system. The filter, which has an automatic purge system, traps oil, water, and any particles larger than 5 microns in size.
Step 2: Drying and Trapping
Residual moisture and CO/CO2 molecules are removed by a dual active carbon trap.
Step 3: NOx, SOx, O3
A special scrubber removes these specific molecules.
Step 4: HC and CO Trapping
The air leaving the filter enters a high temperature platinum catalyzer, which eliminates hydrocarbon molecules down to < 0.1 ppm through oxidation.
Step 5: Final Filtration
A final pass through a high-efficiency filter prevents any kind of particles from entering the instrument.
